Happy new year!
Doesn’t January always seem full of new opportunities? It’s as if just because it’s the first month of the year you can make a fresh start and become the person you’ve always wanted to be/do the things you’ve been dreaming about doing. I hate to break the news to you, but when the clock strikes twelve and the year changed from 2015 to 2016, no magic was applied. The year changed and whether or not YOU change dwindles down to one question. Do you want to change? Because if you want to eat healthier/ read one novel a month/travel to different countries/ start a rock band/whatever it is you want to do – you have to WANT to do it. No one will do it for you. And let’s be honest. If you sit around and expect someone to pave the path for you you might be sitting around for quite some time, if not forever. That’s the thing we forget about. We compile an extensive list of goals and by the end of January we’ve given up on half of them. If you remember that it’s just another day and that it doesn’t matter what time of the year you set a goal. It’s not any easier because it’s a new year. It’s your frame of mind. That’s how I feel anyway. The beginning of the year creates all of this motivation that gets me going.
What I’ve started to realize is that by making smaller goals in shorter frames of time (daily/weekly goals) instead of a much larger one to complete by the end of the year makes so much more sense. Also it is extremely doable.
So cheers! Here’s to kicking 2016’s ass and accomplishing great things no matter what day it is *C L I N K*
